Lincoln Woman In Assault Case Arrested After Weekend Shoplift

A 34-year-old woman faces several charges, after allegedly cutting her 48-year-old boyfriend with a knife at an apartment in north Lincoln on Oct. 6. Police arrested 34-year-old Jacinto Watford for second degree domestic assault on Saturday after she was picked up for shoplifting at the Walmart near 27th and Superior. It was first reported that Watford stabbed the man with a two pronged grilling fork, but police now said this isn't the case.

13th Street Conversion To Begin This Weekend

Beginning Sunday, October 21, portions of S. 13th Street between South Street and Lincoln Mall will be closed, primarily overnight, for what City Officials are calling a safety improvement project. City of Lincoln announces free tree debris drop off sites

Following Sunday's storm, the City reminds residents that disposal of private tree debris is the responsibility of the property owner.  Parks and Recreation Community Forestry Section personnel will only clear tree debris that has fallen from trees planted in the public right-of-way between the sidewalk and curb.  For debris in those areas only, call 402-441-7847, option 0, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  After 4:30 p.m., tree debris may be reported to the Lincoln Police Department non-emergency number at 402-441-6000.  Oak Lake Park, 1st and Cornhusker streets, east side of the mulch pile in the parking lot north of the radio-controlled car track Residents can also haul tree debris at no charge until October 19 to Hofeling Enterprises, 2200 S. Dogs, Owner Involved In Attack Tracked Down

Two dogs that bit and attacked a man and his dog on Oct. 3 near the Lincoln Country Club have been located by animal control and the owners have been cited. Lincoln Police said on Oct. 3, around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Woodsdale Blvd. and Cedar Avenue, a couple was walking their dog when two dogs jumped from a window of a passing vehicle.
